For years I had a Verizon wireless card to access the Internet when Wifi wasn't available. It was great and served me well. When I needed internet - like at
Starbucks, the airport or hotel (even in front of a house with clients in the car), I didn't have to worry about paying for internet or signing up for some service. Just plug in and go - as long as I had cell service; I was connected.
The Cost: $60.07 (I guess the 7 cents was tax).
Then I bought a new MacBook Pro and - OH CRAP - it doesn't have the slot needed for the card! So I thought about a USB cell card; then I thought - you know I know my Blackberry can do the same thing; let me do some research....
After several Google searches; and a bit of research; I canceled by cell card and added a $15 service on my Blackberry. Then I connected my blackberry to my laptop with Bluetooth and here I am. Blogging from the road and saving $45 a month. My blackberry - over in my briefcase someplace; my computer sitting on the desk.
Now the downfall is I can't get phone calls while I use it. So as long as it's just for the ocassional use and not all day long - it's a great choice!
